Ami Dodson is a former editorial director and public relations specialist who now advocates for young women diagnosed with breast cancer. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Bay Area Young Survivors and advises the Virginia-based breast-health organization Here for the Girls. A two-time cancer survivor, Ms. Dodson successfully overcame lymphoma in her 20s and breast cancer in her 30s. BRCA2 positive, she is well-versed in genetic testing, fertility considerations, temporary and permanent side effects of treatment and chemotherapy, and the unique challenges for pre-menopausal women facing ovarian removal, sudden-onset menopause, sexual dysfunction and other related issues. After completing her BA from Trinity College of Hartford, CT, magna cum laude, Ms. Dodson graduated from Duke Law School with a JD and a Masters in English. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two children.
