My passion is to bring healing and comfort to those in need. I have been a nurse and educator for twenty years.
I graduated in 1996 with a BSN in Nursing from Penn State University. I went on to receive my MBA from The University of Georgia in 2010. So, yes, I am a Nittany Lion and a Georgia Bulldog!
Throughout my career, I have been a healer, teacher, cheerleader and encourager for my patients, coworkers, friends and family. None of which prepared me for the first time in my life when I became the patient.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Stage IIb, triple positive in January 2014. At the time, I was 39 years old. I underwent a left mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. I opted not to have breast reconstruction.
I have been extremely blessed with the love and support of my family. I live with my mother in law, Evelyn, my husband of 11 years, Ryan and our two children Mia, age 10, and Jake, age 4. We also have the beginnings of Noah's Ark with a grand total of 10 pets in our home. Life is never dull in our house in Lakeland, Tennessee. My family keeps me grounded and has enabled me to embark on this cancer journey and battle with all that I am.
