Janet is a Deputy Attorney General at the State of New Jersey Office of the Attorney General in the Division of Criminal Justice. There she specializes in the prosecution of financial and computer crimes, namely, complex white collar and cyber crime cases. Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, Janet represented corporate clients in a civil practice.
Janet first became involved with YSC in 2011 after being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35. YSC immediately helped in easing the burden of fear and became a tremendous source of relief by providing invaluable information and unyielding support for young women battling breast cancer.
Janet found that YSC's passion for compassion was contagious and quickly became committed to standing with women who found themselves facing breast cancer.
Janet is a two-time Tour de Pink rider and fundraises on behalf of YSC with the support of a generous network of friends, family and colleagues. Janet also loves spending time volunteering as a YSC peer mentor by supporting women throughout their treatment. She has spoken at Relay For Life events, sharing the story of her battle with cancer and how the experience of her recovery has made her a stronger woman in ways she never imagined possible.
There is perhaps no greater gift she appreciates more than that of the perspective she has gained over the past 10 years of her life. Janet lost her father to cancer in 2006. Shortly before his passing, her father built his family a house in his hometown of Coreglia Antelmenlli in Tuscany, where he was born and raised.
Every summer since, Janet and her family spend time there, in the place of her father's dream for his family. The symbolic beauty of this home serves as a reflective reminder that life is meant to be embraced every second of every day, and to be surrounded by the love of family and friends.
