Word is getting out! Our Seattle support group meetings, social and educational events are bustling with new faces, and we're happy to see new connections and friendships being made. Our members have been busy, so please take a look:
We had a great turnout of 60 people for our 4th Annual Holiday Party on December 17th! We celebrated with delicious Greek food, had fun in the photo booth not to mention the kids activities that included cookie decorating with our great volunteers! Thank you so much to Misshelrawka for the music and Paul Porter for the photo booth, not to mention our party planners Katie, Judy, Jen & Melanie. We look forward to a great 2012 ahead together!

On Sunday November 6th 2011, Lululemon University Village pushed their products aside, unrolled yoga mats and turned their space into an instant yoga studio for just us YSC Seattle members! It was a great chance for us to unwind after a long Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) and restore our bodies and spirits as we head into the busy holiday season. Thanks to the organizers and volunteers who made it happen.
2011 In Living Pink- a huge success! With the help of our sponsors, guests, donors and volunteer committee, we raised $32,000 to fund our direct local support, education and continued outreach so that no young woman has to face breast cancer alone. Check out Facebook for more photos.
Our Annual Family BBQ- the hottest day of the year in Seattle!
We had over 45 members attend our Annual Family BBQ in the Seattle sunshine! What a strong sense of community this group has—friends new and old. Survivors, co-survivors and our little cherubs too! Big thanks to Tina for getting us the bouncy house, to Katie for orgaznizing and to Joe Renee and Laura for preparing all the amazing food and to all who are part of our circle of support. Until next time...
YSC Seattle local Retreat held at Harmony Hill Cancer Retreat Center
Eighteen local members attended a two-day retreat April 15-17. The weekend included yoga practice, art therapy, group sessions, meditation and more. The consensus was that it should become an annual event and everyone felt it was worthwhile personally and strengthened our circle of support. Big thanks to volunteer, Katie Hogan who volunteered to organize the entire weekend for us!

Volunteer opportunities
Our affiliate leadership committee is still looking for people with experience and passion in planning our education, social and outreach activities for the year. If you or anyone you know would be interested in dedicating time to one of these efforts please email
yscseattle@youngsurvival.org. These positions require some commitment and are vital to our 2012 mission.
You do not have to be a survivor to take part so please reach out to your networks to help us bring more people on board!
