Young Survival Coalition Teams with the World Marathon Majors

New York, New York - (February 1, 2007)

Partnership with WMM Will Raise Vital Funds for Young
Women Affected by Breast Cancer.

The Young Survival Coalition (YSC) (www.youngsurvival.org), the only international, nonprofit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the concerns and issues that are unique to young women and breast cancer, has teamed with the World Marathon Majors in support of the Boston, Chicago and New York marathons for 2007.

The YSC is now one of the fourteen charitable organizations a marathon runner can choose to raise money for in return for a space in one of these prestigious marathon events. Not only does the runner have a secured spot in one of these three major marathons, but they have a guaranteed rewarding experience and involvement in an organization making a difference in the lives of young women diagnosed with breast cancer.

All participants are required to raise a minimum of $2,500. For their efforts, the YSC will provide each participant with:

  • full training plans
  • training support and tips
  • YSC paraphernalia (t-shirt, sock, key chain)
  • fundraising support
  • post-marathon reception
  • goody bags
  • gifts along the way to thank you for what you're doing!
  • personal fundraising website

If you are a runner who wants to run in the Boston, New York and/or Chicago Marathons and need a spot (Boston and NY are filling fast) or if you just want to run for the YSC, call Alison Dichter, the YSC's Development Associate at 646-257-3019 or e-mail at alisond@youngsurvival.
