New York, NY - (December 8, 2003)
The Young Survival Coalition (YSC), the only international network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the critical concerns and issues unique to young women and breast cancer (www.youngsurvival.org), today announced that Mikimoto, creators of the most luxurious cultured pearls treasured by collectors worldwide, will present the YSC with a donation of $7500 in honor of their Fifth Anniversary of helping young women affected by breast cancer.
Mikimoto hosted a five-year anniversary celebration for the Young Survival Coalition on Tuesday, November 18th at their flagship store in Manhattan. The event highlighted the progress the YSC has made over the past five years and launched trunk show week for Mikimoto. Executives from Mikimoto America, Lifetime Television, Hologic and SELF Magazine as well as Miss USA were present for the celebration.
"We are extremely grateful to receive this donation and partner with Mikimoto," commented Randi Rosenberg, YSC President. "The YSC has made tremendous strides in the last five years from collaborating on research studies specific to young women and breast cancer; to bringing about awareness to legislators on the state and federal levels; to hosting much-needed educational programs for young women living with breast cancer. This donation will be used to support our programs that serve the community of young women affected by breast cancer, and we applaud Mikimoto for recognizing our efforts."
Based in New York, the Young Survival Coalition is the only international network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the critical concerns and issues unique to young women and breast cancer.
