/PRNewswire-FirstCall/-- Hologic, Inc., a leading provider of women's diagnostic imaging systems, announced today it will become a five-year corporate sponsor of the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) in recognition of YSC's first five years of service to young women diagnosed with breast cancer. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/031007/netu028_1.html For the third year in a row, the Young Survival Coalition is pleased to be a beneficiary of the 2005 Women's Adventure Races. The events will be held on July 17 at the Travis County Expo Center/Decker Lake in Austin, and on September 11 at the Amon Carter YMCA Camp in River Oaks in Dallas. Billed as the largest adventure race in the U.S., the two events will offer fun, exciting, beginner-friendly courses for competitors and a festival atmosphere for racers and spectators alike. Two-women teams will compete in trail running, hiking, mountain biking, mystery events and a water section with a twist -- the women must bring their own watercraft. The events will include an outdoor expo and an expanded kid's adventure zone. These exciting, fun-filled events will benefit the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), www.youngsurvival.org, an international network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the issues unique to young women and breast cancer. "We are grateful for the continued support from the Women's Adventure Races," said Michele Przypyszny, Executive Director of the YSC. "The proceeds from these exciting events are instrumental in enabling the YSC to help young women in Texas and across the nation whose lives have been impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis." In addition to participating, the Women?s Adventure Races and the YSC are encouraging people to volunteer for the events in a variety of capacities. Those interested in learning more about participating and/or volunteering are encouraged to sign up for the e-mail newsletter providing the latest race details at http://www.womensrace.com.
Founded in 1999 by three women under the age of 35 with breast cancer, the YSC today has more than 10,000 members consisting of survivors, supporters, and members of the medical community. About Women's Adventure Races |
