Manchester

YSC Manchester Affiliate DescriptionYSC Manchester was formed by a local young survivor in late 2008 with two goals in mind:  to raise local awareness of breast cancer in young women and to connect young women in Southern New Hampshire who have been affected by breast cancer.

We are committed to educating the local community about breast cancer in young women. YSC Manchester also improves the lives of local young women affected by breast cancer through its support programs, working hard to ensure that local young survivors feel supported, empowered, and hopeful, not only at the time of diagnosis, but for years beyond.

Community Awareness
Manchester Community Event photoYSC Manchester is always looking for opportunities to raise awareness in our community, making sure that everyone knows that young women can and do get breast cancer.

In the fall of 2010, we hosted information tables at various community events, including Bras Across the River, Pink Day at the Mall of New Hampshire, and Passionately Pink for the Cure at Derry Imaging. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to reach out to the community at these events, and also to network with medical professionals and other young women affected by breast cancer.

If you would like us to provide an information table or materials for a breast cancer awareness event or for your school or office, please contact us!

Help YSC Manchester Grow
Since YSC Manchester was formed in 2008, we've been working hard to provide outreach, resources, and connections to young women in Southern New Hampshire who have been affected by breast cancer. Slowly but surely, we've begun making connections with local hospitals and community service organizations and, more importantly, direct connections with local young survivors. We have also organized events for local young women who have been affected by breast cancer, so that they can make connections with each other and we all can feel supported, hopeful, and empowered.

YSC Manchester needs more volunteer support so that we can continue to expand our reach in the community and serve local young women with breast cancer. We are looking for folks who are interested in getting involved at any level. You do not need to be a young survivor to be involved. To see some ways that you can help, check our most recent newsletter.
