YSC Central Indiana was formed on September 10, 2000, through the efforts of seven young breast cancer survivors. YSC Central Indiana was the first YSC affiliate and has grown to be one of the most respected and active breast cancer groups in Indiana. We collaborate with a large number of breast cancer and cancer organizations in Central Indiana. In addition to our commitment to advocate and educate "that young women can and do get breast cancer," we participate in many area events, provide social networking opportunities through our monthly educational meetings, workshops and quarterly, family friendly social events.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Indianapolis Affiliate of Komen for the Cure, we have developed Newly Diagnosed Resource Kits (NDRKs) to provide vital resources for young women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Each kit includes a Local Resource Guide, a National Resource Guide, the book Fighting for Our Future, a You Are Not Alone DVD, brochures and other educational materials. These kits are distributed to nurse and patient navigators, breast surgeons, oncologists and cancer centers in Central Indiana. If you are a newly diagnosed, premenopausal woman and would like to receive a kit at no cost, please contact us.

Pizza, Popcorn & PJs Movie Party - Monday, April 26th, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Join us for a fun & educational evening as we show the Lifetime movie Living Proof, the true story of the UCLA doctor who helped develop the breast cancer drug Herceptin. Pizza, popcorn & drinks provided; don't forget to wear your PJs! Full details here.

Monthly Meetings

YSC Central Indiana has monthly meetings at Logan's Roadhouse at 4825 East 82nd Street and our new office at 6990 Hillsdale Court, both in Indianapolis. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. October and December meeting schedules vary slightly. The meetings are both fun and educational and allow women to network with others about issues unique to young women.
