YSC Programs

The Young Survival Coalition's (YSC) educational programs are designed to reach not only our core audience of young women affected by breast cancer, but also members of the medical community, friends, family members, caregivers, the breast health community, healthy young women and the general public.

Our programs were created to assist the YSC in achieving some of our key goals and objectives, among them to:

  • Reduce the sense of isolation felt by many young women with breast cancer and their loved ones by creating a strong community nationally and internationally
  • Prevent delayed diagnoses by educating the medical community about breast cancer in young women
  • Increase the quality and quantity of research focused specifically on young women affected by breast cancer
  • Educate young women about breast health and how to be their own best health advocate
  • Fill the gap in information and help young women navigate their breast cancer experience by providing tailored educational resources

On the following pages you will find a breakdown of our programs focused on our three key audiences -- young women affected by breast cancer, the medical community, the general public -- and information on how we achieve the objectives listed above through action, advocacy and awareness.

From the only Annual Conference for Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer, to teleconferences for survivors and caregivers, to programs that can be presented to a local high school or college, to marching on Capitol Hill, you will find an ever-growing and committed community of young women affected by breast cancer, their families, friends, caregivers and members of the medical community working toward a common goal. YSC programs unite this community and provide our constituents with the much needed resources - whether practical or emotional - they may need at any time.
