YSC Northern New Jersey Chapter members include breast cancer survivors, family, and friends. As with all other local YSC groups, some YSC Northern New Jersey Chapter members have never been diagnosed with breast cancer, they realize it affects everyone. Their wish was to become involved in a cause that was worthwhile to them, and they found it at our chapter. These people are now our friends.
Our chapter was founded by Lisa Marie Muccilo in January 2002. We lost Lisa Marie in August 2003, but her examples of passion, dedication, strength and determination still guide us today.

We meet on the Third Tuesday each calendar month 6pm at Alpha Industries, Page & Schuyler Avenues, Bldg 8, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 (201)933-6000 ext.19.

- Donated $25,000 to YSC/LBCC Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer conference in Denver, Colorado on February 24-26, 2006. Five YSC NNJ constituents attended the conference.
- MAAC Fights Back Against Breast Cancer: Annual awareness campaign and fund drive established to benefit YSC.
- Lenardo Dinner/Dance Fundraiser raised $7,300!
- NBCC Scholarships – with three NJ constituents attending the Conference, YSC NNJ honored as Local Breast Cancer Heroes by the Komen North Jersey Affiliate at The BMW Ultimate Drives
- Annual Fundraiser In Living Pink raised approximately $83,000! Awareness Mailing to 75 hospitals and breast centers in NNJ's 9 county service area, which included resource videos for newly diagnosed young women.
- Breast Health 101 Presentation to over 400 young women at Emerson High School in Union City, NJ
- Local Survivor Outreach thanks to Jeannette for hosting a gathering at her home for approximately 35 people
- YSC NNJ information table to reach out to 100+ at the Princeton Breast Cancer Resource Center's "Surviving and Thriving" Event Partnership with JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ to provide educational materials to over 1,200 young women in Middlesex and Bergen Counties
- "You Are Not Alone: Color Me Pink" Survivor Event reached out to five new members
- Three NNJ constituents participate in the York Tour de Pink, cycling 220 miles to raise awareness and funds for the YSC
- One NNJ constituent has registered and trained to become a YSC National ResourceLink "Point of Contact" Volunteer
- YSC NNJ participated in Pink Pony Day at Ralph Lauren on October 19, 2006, and accepted a $5,000 grant
- YSC NNJ participates in educational fair at Gilda's Club on October 20, 2006
- YSC NNJ participates in health and wellness fair at Realogy Corporation on October 25, 2006
- YSC NNJ coordinates and participates in COURAGE NIGHTS including screenings of Lifetime Television Movie Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Ramapo College and Drew University on October 23 and 25, 2006
- Donated $5,000 to the Affiliate Leadership Conference December 1-3, 2006. Five YSC NNJ leaders attended the conference
