The YSC offers a variety of volunteer opportunities in our NYC office as well as those you can take advantage of from your home or office, including:

Current National Opportunities:

Points of Contact

Points of Contact (POC) are national volunteers who are matched with young women who contact the YSC wishing to speak with other women who share their experience. The POC volunteer initiates a conversation over the phone or via email to reduce the sense of isolation that many young women with breast cancer may feel.

Newsletter Writers

Our newsletter editor needs volunteers to write features and news articles about YSC programs, events and community members. Must have access to telephone and email to conduct interviews and communicate with newsletter editor.

Medical Writers

We are looking for writers who have a familiarity with breast cancer issues and medical terminology and can write concisely for the medical community as well as simplify clinical language for the public. Assignments may include writing abstracts for research studies and highlighting the studies presented at national research conferences for our website or newsletter.

Volunteer Nights in New York City:

In the coming weeks, we will be re-starting our monthly Volunteer Nights in our New York City office.  These gatherings give you an opportunity to network and socialize with other volunteers in a relaxed atmosphere, while you provide critical, hands-on support to the national office.

• Creating press packets
• Filing
• Making "thank you" calls to donors
• Assisting with mailings
• Conducting online research
