Some of our recent highlights
Packets for Newly Diagnosed Patients:
Packets contain local support and resources, YANA video and brochure, as well as a Circle Journey conversation kit. This service is funded in part by a grant from the Columbus affiliate of Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Scholarship Program for the Annual Conference for Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer: In 2006, we sent 10 Central Ohio members who were recipients of travel scholarships. This conference is unique- the only international gathering of young breast cancer survivors with close to 1,000 attendees. This program is funded, in part, by a generous donation from the Vicki Speakman Memorial Fund.

YSC Lecture Series: This educational lecture series involves collaborating with a variety of no-profit groups, hospitals, and medical oncology offices to bring speakers to informal lectures. It will touch on topics specific to breast cancer in young women, but applicable to all ages such as sexuality, fatigue, and employability after cancer. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Columbus affiliate of Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Speaker Panel: YSC in Central Ohio volunteers speak at breast cancer awareness events, medical symposiums, and motivational events. Reviews are always outstanding and attendees are touched by the candor and knowledge level of our volunteers. Members have also received tremendous local media coverage.

Networking Group at Wellness Community: YSC Central Ohio hosts this informal, drop in group in Dublin. If you are newly diagnosed, going through treatment, or want to connect with other young survivors this is the place for you!

Hadassah Check It Out: YSC members serve as speakers and tell their personal stories in collaboration with Hadassah's educational breast health program. This program reaches out to healthy young women in Central Ohio high schools and colleges.

Educational Booth: The YSC provides educational and support materials at booths and tables at area health fairs, breast cancer walks and other related events.

Courage Night: Each year this event celebrates the courage of young women living with breast cancer, and honors the memory of those who have lost their battle. Survivors, supporters, and YSC volunteers gather in a night of celebration and remembrance.

In Living Pink: 2006 will mark the inaugural year for this fundraising gala. Modeled after successful In Living Pinks held by the National YSC and other chapters.
