Join us for the YSC Houston Monthly Business meeting at the West University Methodist Church. Get a chance to meet the YSC Houston leadership and other young survivors. See how you can get involved. Directions.
This meeting is for young breast cancer survivors from both the St. Luke's and SMDC Hospital systems or anyone who feels comfortable in our setting rather than the general breast cancer support group. Come to hear news and information from the breast cancer community and have dedicated time to share, listen and support other breast cancer survivors. There are occasionally speakers who specialize in topics important to breast cancer survivors such as: lymphedema, reconstruction and stress management.

Directions: Follow First Street (one-way street) to the Duluth Clinic First Street Building at 420 East First Street. Parking is available across the street in the Miller Dawn parking garage. This meeting is open to the public and is free of charge.
For women who are have completed their initial course of treatment, are a year or more out from their date of initial diagnosis, or are in ongoing treatment, Thrive offers the Survivorship Group. The group is an informal gathering over a light dinner and drinks where women discuss how breast cancer has impacted their lives. All are welcome to attend. Survivorship Group is typically the 3rd Wednesday of each month and is held in a different Thrive members' home each month. For directions please email info@thrivetogether.org.
Thrive is dedicated to providing support, services, and education to young women in the greater Boston area who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Cancer diagnosis and treatment can force changes in a woman's work life, upsetting the work/home balance and her chosen career path. Many women take a leave of absence during cancer treatment, reduce the total amount of time they dedicate to work both during and after treatment, and/or decide to change their career path altogether.
In this seminar we will explore the valuable skill of marketing our talents, accomplishments, and values. Marketing ourselves is an essential ingredient to successfully manage our careers, but this can be a challenge as we work to understand our post-cancer selves. Learn how to develop and market the "new you" as you take charge of your career.
This seminar will be lead by Rita B. Allen, the Founder and President of Rita B. Allen Associates, a provider of career management services for individuals and organizations.
RSVPs are required. There is no fee to attend. Please RSVP to info@wellnesscommunity.org or 617.332.1919.
Thrive's monthly lecture series is co-sponsored with The Program for Young Women with Breast Cancer at Dana-Farber and The Wellness Community. All lectures are held at The Wellness Community, typically on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
