The Third Annual YSC Affiliate Leadership Conference will be held November 16-18, 2007 in Houston, TX. Houston is the home of our YSC Board President and one of our local Chapters. The conference will take place at the Doubletree Guest Suites, located across from the Houston Galleria. Friday night will kick off the conference with a welcome reception, then dinner on your own. The conference will wrap up on Sunday afternoon with lunch and closing remarks.
All YSC Chapters and Community Volunteer Group (CVG) leaders are invited to attend the conference. Each will be given specific leadership training skills and tools to assist them with leading their own local Chapter or CVG.
Goals of this conference include:
- Understanding the roles, expectations and potential of YSC leaders
- Building leadership skills
- Learning relevant management strategies and techniques
- Sharing best practices
- Celebrating YSC successes
- Networking and building relationships with affiliate/national volunteers and staff
- Developing an action plan for implementation back home
- Refreshing our commitment to the YSC mission and customers, each other and staff/volunteers
- creating partnerships. As the YSC continues to grow, it is critical that we effectively and efficiently share our knowledge, expertise and vision with each other so that we remain a powerful resource for young women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. We look forward to this event and to the momentum that it will build as we move forward.
