Help raise awareness that young women can and do get breast cancer and fundraise within your community! Host a fundraiser, bake sale or be creative, like with the lemonade stands described below! Please call 646.257.3000 if you would like to have YSC brochures to hand out at your event.
Drink Beyond the Pink
Set up a Pink Lemonade Stand in your neighborhood, school etc. This is a kid-friendly option that can involve the whole community, helping to get the YSC's name and message out there. It is also a great Halloween event. Throw a Pink Cocktail Party (21+) at your local bar or home to help educate young women about breast health while raising donations for YSC. Host a Pink Tea Party with a few friends at a venue or your home to support the cause. Run a Marathon for the YSC
We have teamed up with the World Marathon Majors in support of the 2008 Boston, Chicago and New York City marathons. We have guaranteed spots in each of these world-class races, but act now as space is limited. Contact Emily Johnson at 646.257.3002 or ejohnson@youngsurvival.org.
Take a Virtual Walk
In February 2007, we launched our very first virtual walk, Stand Up for Survival! This "walk" is a way for YSC members and friends to raise money and awareness for the YSC without ever leaving home. Or, you can take a walk through your community; you set the day, time and the route. As a special thank you for your participation, our top fundraisers will receive some very special prizes.
Getting Married?

Discovery Toys

Host another kind of toy party and have your closest female friends over for what is guaranteed to be a fun time! Pure Romance has enhanced their product line to include safe and effective products for women before, during and after breast cancer treatments. Matching Gifts
A great way to double your donation (and in some cases even more) is to ask your company whether they offer matching gifts. Matching gifts are designed to offer an incentive for employees to give to their favorite charity. Your company's HR department will be able to tell you if they are eligible to provide matching gifts.
Give a Gift of Stock
Donating appreciate securities is a wonderful way to give to the YSC and reap the tax benefits! The YSC suggests that anyone interested in donating stock consult their legal advisor to find the most opportune way to give.
Planned Giving
Listing the YSC as a beneficiary in your will is a great way of supporting the YSC in the future, while caring for your personal assets in the present. There are many ways to donate to the organization while also receiving benefits! Planned gifts can offer important tax savings: income tax; estate tax; gift tax; capital gains tax, or in some instances, a combination of taxes. Ask your financial advisor if making a planned gift could benefit you!
Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)
If you are a federal employee you are eligible to donate through the CFC fund. The CFC is dedicated to promoting and supporting charities. The YSC is listed as one of their designated charities and gives an employee the opportunity to pick the YSC among a list of charities and donate through their website. Log onto their website at http://www.opm.gov/cfc/. The YSC is listed as "Breast Cancer in Young Women" code 2699.

The success of YSC's programs depends on the support of dedicated volunteers locally, nationally and internationally. These men and women lend their time and talents to assist the YSC in increasing the quality and quantity of life for all young women living with breast cancer. We provide volunteer opportunities at our central office, through our affiliate network, in your local community and abroad.
