Susie Blair
Susie Blair has been an active member of the Columbus Chapter of Hadassah for over twenty three years. She has held numerous board positions both locally and on the regional level, including the Columbus chapter president. Susie became involved in Check It Out, Hadassah's educational program dedicated to teaching young women about early breast cancer detection since its inception in 2000. Currently, she is the Check It Out director. Susie sits on the education committee for the Columbus affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and volunteers annually to help with registration for the Race for the Cure. Two years ago, Susie joined the board of the Young Survival Coalition. She dedicates much of her time involved in breast cancer initiatives in honor of her mother, Ellen, a 33-year survivor. Susie is married to husband Brad and has two children, Daniel and Melissa.
Kelly Borth, CBC, APR
Kelly is president of GREENCREST, an advertising, marketing and public relations agency, and is actively involved in the Columbus business community. She serves as a board member and advisor for many nonprofit organizations and businesses. She has been named one of Columbus' Power 100 by Smart Business magazine. Kelly was named the 1998 Communicator of the Year by the Columbus Chamber Sales Executive Club, was a finalist for the 1999 Supporter of Entrepreneurship Award by Ernst & Young, was recognized as the Columbus chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) 2003 Member of the Year and a 2005 recipient of its Visionary Award.
Klara Box *
Klara Box is new to the YSC Central Ohio Executive Council and is involved with helping organize the annual fundraiser In Living Pink. Klara was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2005 at the age of 32 and has been privileged to attend two national YSC conferences. Klara is completing a nursing degree at The Ohio State University and lives with her husband Jason, an OSU professor of geography, and their two cats in the Short North neighborhood of Columbus.

Katie Carter
Katie has been Executive Director of Komen Columbus since 2001. She has been closely involved with the incredible growth of the Komen Columbus affiliate and has been a crucial part of the Komen Columbus Affiliate Board and team. Both her Grandmother and Aunt are Breast Cancer Survivors, which has led to her tremendous passion for working with Komen Columbus Volunteers and Survivors. Katie holds an Undergraduate Degree from Capital University, as well as a Graduate Degree, a Masters in Public Administration from Ohio University. Katie and her supportive husband David, who is a dedicated Komen Columbus Volunteer, live in Westerville.
Susan McQuade * - Volunteer Coordinator
Susan is a Business Systems Analyst with a software company in Gahanna, Ohio. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2006 at the age of 39. Susan found the YSC after a friend convinced her to attend a Survive and Thrive workshop just after completing treatment. Susan and her husband Steve, live in Pataskala, Ohio with their two sons.
Catherine Schwandt
Cathy is a residential Real Estate Consultant for Keller Williams in Hilliard. She began her involvement with YSC in 2006 after signing up as a volunteer. Diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1980 at the age of 28, she felt she could be an inspiration to young women diagnosed at an early age and show them it is possible to live a long, healthy life after diagnosis. Cathy is a volunteer for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Education Committee, and she also -Walk every year since 2002, either as a walker and/or volunteer. When she is not selling real estate or volunteering, Cathy spends time with her husband of 21 years, Rick, and their 2 grandsons.
Carmen G. Sidani RN, MSN, NP-C
Carmen is a Breast Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The University of Rochester in 2002 and received her Masters of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner degree from Kent State University in 2007. Her oncology career began at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation with both inpatient and outpatient experience as well as on bone marrow transplants at the University Hospitals in Cleveland. Carmen became an Oncology Certified Nurse in 2004. Carmen joined YSC to support the many courageous survivors she sees on a daily basis and in loving memory of her mother in law Sheilah. Carmen currently lives in Columbus with her husband Samir and two dogs.
Christine Walker MA, LPCC-S * - YSC Support Group Facilitator
Christine is certified by the State of Ohio as an independently licensed clinical counselor with a supervisory designation. She has been involved in nonprofit oncology organizations for more than ten years, which included involvement in marketing, development, and the provision of direct counseling services to groups, individuals, and families. Christine is a member of the YSC Central Ohio Executive Council and serves on the programming committee.
