YSC Detroit In Living Pink Gala 2010 - Friday, August 06th, 7:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Enjoy an evening out and help YSC Detroit ensure that young women of Metro Detroit do not face breast cancer alone. Full details here.We currently offer two support groups meeting the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of every month at the locations listed below. 2nd Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.: Van Elslander Cancer Center at St. John Hospital, 19229 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, 48236. Directions and parking information. 3rd Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.: Alice Gustafson Center at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, 44405 Woodward Avenue, Pontiac, MI, 48341. Directions. YSC Detroit is looking for folks who are interested in getting involved at any level. Regardless of whether you are a young survivor or not and regardless of whether you are newly diagnosed or years out, you can help YSC Detroit raise local awareness of breast cancer in young women and connect local young survivors. The YSC Detroit Affiliate is committed to supporting the young women of Metro Detroit and surrounding suburbs that are living with breast cancer. The facts are that young women can and do get breast cancer and those women deserve a local support network that understands the concerns that are unique to a young breast cancer patient. Through community outreach, we strive to make ourselves known to those who might need us now and in the future. We believe that through advocacy, support groups, networking and fundraising, we can successfully reach young women in our community and eliminate their feelings of isolation.
