YSC Central Ohio is offering an on-going support group that will focus on addressing the unique concerns of young women diagnosed with breast cancer. Educational information will also be provided during the sessions. Our goal is to help members to find the tools and resources to live with purpose and joy as they face the challenges of cancer. Meetings will be twice a month on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
This four-month session begins Tuesday, September 16, 2008, and will be held at the American Cancer Society, in the Family Patient Room, 870 Michigan Avenue.

YSC Central Ohio began in 2002 when co-founders Jill Hymer and Anna Cluxton met at the Annual Conference for Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer. Jennifer Wolfe joined them in 2003 and began to help build the foundation of volunteers that make up the Chapter.

Soon they developed into a networking group and hosted support groups at a local hospital and the Wellness Community. In 2005, the group officially affiliated with the YSC as the Central Ohio Chapter. Our Executive Council consists of local leaders in the media, breast cancer and fundraising fields. It is our goal to reach out to young women newly diagnosed with breast cancer, those post-treatment and living with advanced breast cancer, along with the medical community, and other breast cancer organizations to decrease the sense of isolation felt by young women affected by breast cancer and create a welcoming and educated community.
