YSC Houston's In Living Pink 2010 Superheroes: Be A Survivor's Sidekick! - Saturday, October 02nd, 7:00-11:00 p.m. Join us for Our 6th Annual In Living Pink Gala Superhero event where you can use your Super powers to help us ensure that young women in Houston do not face breast cancer alone. Support Group: The Knockout Roses Young Breast Cancer Survivor's Support Group is a partnership with The Rose, a nonprofit, Houston-area organization for breast cancer screening, diagnosis and support. This is the first one in the Houston area specifically for young women with breast cancer. Our hope is that this group will be a place where young survivors can come to meet each other and to talk about the issues that are unique to them. The Knockout Roses support group meets the 2nd Monday of each month from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. at The Rose Galleria at 5420 West Loop South, Suite 3300, Bellaire, TX, 77401 (Directions). The Houston Affiliate of the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) started meeting in the Fall of 2002 and has grown to be a well recognized organization in the Houston breast cancer community. The Houston YSC works in our community to support and improve the lives of young women with breast cancer and help ensure a better future for the young women who may one day be diagnosed. Our ongoing activities include hosting a monthly support group called "The Knockout Roses" and distribution of our Newly Diagnosed Resource Kits to young women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer. We host an annual fundraising event every Fall, In Living Pink, which is a fun, hip, signature event that also helps bring awareness to the community that young women can and do get breast cancer.
